Slamr and I spent a few hours on Webster before the Webster Lake Musky Club meeting, moving a couple and dodging the snow squalls by just minutes. Nothing in the boat, but it WAS the first time I can ever remember fishing Muskies in December.

I really enjoyed the meeting. The Webster Lake club is quite a group, loaded with good fishermen and women. The banquet was a blast and the club's hospitality second to none!

Thanks to Slamr for taking me out on the water and putting up with me for the weekend. Sorry about the Bears, man. I listened to the game on Westwood One on the way home...

What did you do last weekend?

I started the winter rod building machine. Now is my busy buiding time. I built a bunch of ice stick for a local guide that was at our Ice Show this weekend and got started on a bunch of musky and walleye sticks.

Not to mention I got strep throat again. Second time in two weeks. That is a bunch of fun.

Spend saturday on the Road for MMA, and finding out little more about the future on MN fisheries. Sunday shoveling out and putting the boat away in its happy place for the winter.

After getting my truck-struck dog back from the vet's, there were a few hours to try out some of Gene Richardson's new crank and twitch baits at a local tiger muskie lake. I've been to this lake 4-5 times, first time I ever noticed the sign by the ramp:"no gas motors in lake". Well, first I thought that was good, nobody lost a motor; good thing since there's a water plant there! Then I realized it was West Va.'s little way of saying 'electric only'. oops. better now. No fish. Fun baits, esp. the dart 'n diver! m

picked up my custom framed ice-house carrier and some other accessories for the clam saturday morning and then watched the snow with a miller lite (ok, a couple) whilst watching college football saturday (snow was horizontal here so kids 86'd the ice-fishing notion) ... sunday went downhill skiing with the band of wild indians and one from a neighboring tribe and learned that at age 43 it's different than it was at age 42 ... the snowfall is going to make ice conditions tough on some lakes this year ...

Still fishing here in PA.. After our MI50 meeting at cabelas, my buddy and I hit a local lake. Weather was just above freezing with wind gust up to 25mph. It was cold to say the least. after several passes, fish hit on the outside weed edge while pausing a twitch bait. She was just under 40" but very healthy fall fish....

Excersized a bunch. One more therapy sessions after today and they are calling the doc to see if I can get the weight restriction lifted. My year might not yet be over!

was out fishing the last day of the season with Koepp on Friday, and being in the cold seemed to egg on the cough/cold. Bronchitis the doc tells me. Saturday got the snow blower prepped, and running for a gallon of gas for it cost me about $504 (adding in the deductible). Someone didn't yield my right of way and helped customize the driver side quarter panel on the SUV. No one got hurt which is good. Police said it was the 12th accident in two hours and counting. Sunday winterized the boat and motor after clearing snow from the sidewalk and driveway. Emptied the boat in hopes of selling the rig and making room for another. Come on first Saturday in May.

Martin and I went out on the Fox Chain one last time for a couple hours, we didn't have much luck but it felt good to get out one last time. the shore lines are iced over and there is floating ice all over.

Good Luck in 08

Up north for some early ice, between the 3 of us we had well over 40 flags. Caught 13 walleye and over 20 pike. Great way to start the ice season!!!! The wife even braved the snow storm to catch her first pike and walleye ever through the ice, it was an awesome weekend.

Great to see Steve and Slamr at the Webster meeting on saturday night. Of course I couldn't believe anything Steve shared with us during his presentation. He's a fisherman after all AND and salesman!
No, I really enjoyed it Steve. Come back soon. Thanks to Chae and Renae and the rest of the 49'rs for a great time. Your hard work is appreciated.

I paced to and from the front window watching the trees bend from the heavy winds,to the back window watching the snow pile on the boat, thinking of I could be off to the water any minute! No not today, now the boat has snow in the bow, could not get the front pedestal seat out, frozen in, to put the front cover on.Weather may warm up by the weekend for one last chance in Canadian Waters,Niagara River 43 degrees still!
