| I've got some Okumas, some Daiwa Sealines and some Daiwa Accudepths...
of the 3, the Sealines to me are the most solid, have the best line counter and best drag...for the money the Okuma's are nice but I find the counter gets wacked sometimes...Accudepths are decent too...really you can go wrong with any of them or the bass pro ones...like John says keep an eye out for sales...but you can snag the Okumas on ebay for around 55 each... |

I dont have the convectors, but I have Magdas in sizes 20, 30 and 45. For boards I really like the power of the 45s. The wider spool seems to come in handy when you're bringing in board + fish with lots of line out. For a down rod or flat lined rod I'd go with the 30s. If you're a wacko troller like me, and you're running baits off of downrigger balls the 20s would fit the bill pretty well, as would the 30s. But again, this is with the Magdas, not the Convectors. |

Location: Verona, WI | I run a combination of Okuma Magdas 45s, Daiwa Accudepth 47s, and the Gander Guide Series reels and all have been pretty good for me and cost effective. I think the Daiwas are the most expensive and run about $50. |

Location: Verona, WI | I would definitely go Tekota if I trolled more and could justify the $170 for a reel. I have used them in the past and they are very nice. |

| I have Diawa Sealine 27's, but use those for my walleye planer board fishing.
For Muskie trolling, I use Diawa Accudepth 27 and 47's, and also use Tidewater LC's. These are really pretty nice reels for $35 or so. Drags are smooth, and the ratio works well with the boards.
Tekota's are nice, but they aren't $80 ea. nicer than Sealines.

Location: north central wisconsin | I run both Diawa Sealine LCW 47's and Okuma Convector 30's. While I have had good luck with both, my Okumas get the nod for smoothness, reliability(no issue other than having to replace the line counter itself once on one) and value. I'd buy another Okuma in a heartbeat and plan to in the offseason. Mark frm Okuma recomended the size 20 to me for Musky angling, I have the size 30's. When I buy more, I may just go with the 25 to cover my needs. Latah |

| i finally got my trolling reels over the weekend. I did find some new Tekotas for $150 new in the box! great deal...but that's $450 for 3 reels.
I bought 3 Okumas. two Covector 45's and one convector 30. all 3 reels have line counters. picked up the three reels for $170. new in box. sweet.
Have trolled w/ Tokota's before..i really wanted some..but since i dont troll very much, i thought i'd save some money. thanks for the advise..i bought 3 new Okumas.
