| A friend found a G loomis MUR915C 7'- 7" 20-50lb 1-4oz rod in a blow out bin for $150 and asked if they should pick it up for me, Is it a GL2 or GL3 ? it does not specify on there website. I run an Avid 7' AM70MHF and am wondering what this pole will be better for than my avid. I don't really need 2 rods that do the same thing . If anything I need something better for trolling.
thanks in advance. |

| I use my 7-7 for dragging Cowgirls, smaller jerkbaits, and the like. Even topwaters. It is a great rod for big bucktails. It excels at it. Far nicer for that application than my St Croix or my Dbacks.
It has a little more tip, and a stiffer butt than the St Croix, not to mention you can cover mega water with the extra length, as compared to a 7'. |

| thanks, So you figure it is a better quality rod than the avid series?
How would it work with crankbaits, bulldogs and trolling depthraiders and 10"jakes?

Location: WI | I picked up 2 clearance bin GLoomis rods this year. One went back for a bad tip eye, the other is still going strong. Nice rods, too bad the one was a dud cuz I liked it a lot. They're usually around $200 IIRC. |

Yeah, it is a higher quality rod than the Avid, in my book. It will do everything you have listed above without a doubt. Its a touch light to really rip Dawgs/Sues, but it still moves them very nicely in the water. |
