| I'll be out there both days banging my head against a tree in a red and white Triton bass boat with a 150 Opti. |
| |
| Lunch,
I won't be out this weekend but should be out next week depending on when I get my boat. Anyone going to be out this coming week? Where are you launching out of?

| Yea right!
Over 30 reports on our fishing report page on this pond....and only one fish boated and two seen by all over the last week or two
Not very good I might add.[:blackeye:] |
| |
| I will be there saturday. Sure beats the algae pit in illinois. |
| |
| Wish I could be there, but have to be at a Muskies Inc Banquet in Grand Rapids, MN Friday, and an In Store over by Vermillion Saturday. Besides, my boat is not ready yet...[:blackeye:] |
| |
| I read this thread wrong. I will not and I repeat not be on this understocked algae pit. I will be at least four hours away fishing better water. |
| |
| There still is not alot of fish being caught or seen....What happend to this pond.
Last year I could not go to this pond in April without seeing at least 12. |
| |
| Is it just the muskies we're not seeing out there anymore? My neighbor fishes a bass tournament every wed and sun out there. He said since last May their numbers have been way down. I also noticed that the meat hunters are not eactly killin it out there either. Remember the yellow bass populations? Where there is no forage, there may be no predators. There is a lock and damn on this puddle, perhaps the muskies are leaving in search of more food? There was a week in January were lots of very large muskies were caught down river, including a fat 47". |

| Two thoughts about lack of fish.
1 - Jason's Tourny partner Scott has been busy so he has not opened the holding pen's yet
or
2 - Lunch Box's theory about the fish moving into the river may be correct, this could possibly be the winning strategy for the Tourny on the 27th[;)] . What to do?
See ya all on the 27th.

| There is a very simple answer for this...
I started fishing it!!
I fished the Fox Chain for the first time last May. Ever since then, nobody seems to be catching anything. I put a jinx on the whole lake. Slamr is not the only one who can put a jinx on something.
I fished it all last year, and never saw a fish. [:0] I know I'm not the best fisherman, but come on. 10+ trips to the chain without seeing one fish. I have been to other lakes in Illinois, and I have no problem seeing fish. I have seen one every time on a lake just down the street. |

| John
I might be wrong but, I don't think you can fish the river in the tournament. Maybe Lunch Box knows. |
| |
| Time for that Slamr Special Dynamite/Depth Charge/Chemical treatment plan to be put in place. The Chemicals and Depth Charges are for killing all the garbage fish in the lake, and the dynamite is for destroying the zillions of "pleasure craft" that frequent the area.
Zap the lake, then re-stock with sucker and shad as forage, and muskies, ONLY MUSKIES. 5 years from now, we'll have a fishable lake!!!

| Last spring...I saw TONS of muskies and lots of weeds.
This spring..no weeds on many of my good spots, saw only one muskie where there was a few dead strands of weeds.
I think with the lack of cover, either all the fish are deep or suspended or down river or up river...a 42" was released below the waterford dam in Wisconsin two weeks ago. |

| I haven't been out yet but, remember like 2 years ago where even on Marie you had about 4 feet of visability early in the season? And usually Channel and Catherine are so much clearer. I know I had a awsome fall this past year, but there are some things going on with the Chain that I am not too crazy about. Last season the visability on Channel and Catherine was horrible all season long, and spots that held great weeds the season before held those stink weeds. Now from what you guys say it's worse so far this season. Kind of scary. Does anyone know why all those white bass were dying 2 seasons ago? Maybe it does have some affect?

| BACKLASH:
I would never have brought this up if it were possible as that would have been my game plan. There are several nice spots south of the dam I intend to visit soon. However you cannot go south of the damn for the tournament. The offical entry form rules read:
"Tourmament waters are from North of McHenry dam to Wisconsin state line on the Fox River. All chain of lakes included."

| Lunch Box
I wasn't sure. I thought Phil had told me the river was out. Not a bad idea. The first year of the tournament the team that finished 2nd caught their fish in the river. |

| Trying to decide if i'm going out on sat. Do you think that the weather we have had ( rain, cold front moving in)will improve things? can't get much worse. I know that a cold front will typicaly slow things down but with the freakish hot weather and rapidly warming water temps do you think a cooling trend will pick things up?

| I will be on Sunday! |
| |
| After fishing it hard the last two weekends to no avail, I'm giving it a rest until Friday. Maybe I'll find the secret spot for the tournament on Saturday.
By the way Jason, my son' bass partner caught a 42"er on a jig and twister tail below the Waterford dam last Sunday.
