Its gonna be too cold to cast over the next week and I was wondering if someone could throw me a bone here. I've tried late fall trolling of jakes and believers and such from 15 to 30 ft in the metro lakes i.e. tonka wbl forest with no success at all. Does this pattern really work in the metro with no schools of white fish or is this a pattern for elsewhere. Ihave no confidence in this technique locllay and am looking for some reassurance/pointers. Thanks.

eyes/perch/pannies/etc seem to be heading for deep water right now. Muskies should follow.

Doesn't have to be ciscos to be food

I do ok trolling DDD's along steep breaks and over deeper humps. Definitely not a numbers game but if you can find big schools of perch/panfish there's usually a ski or two hanging in the area. BTW, something that has worked well is when I see the big arc on my graph I'll stop the boat and let the lure sit in the area of the fish - then gun the motor briefly. Sometimes they hit at that point.

deeper coontail has been the way to go for a few weeks now, despite baitfish out deeper that show up on your sonar. if it's too cold to cast try trolling a rad dog or shallow crank. if things get really crazy troll a glider, it can be done. i haven't been getting my baits down too far and it hasn't mattered. good luck

I tried everything on Forest Monday. Nothing worked at all, tried all depths, i really think i needed suckers. Baitfish was holding in 15 ft, actually snagged a few sunnies trolling thru them, but no muskies.

Tonka has some shallow sand flats adjacent to deep water with catchable fish on them. WTD topwaters, rubber baits and gliders past sparse clumps of weeds.

Gary,
Had a blast with you on Friday. Stupid fish! There will be another day for sure. I cleaned the boat out this am in the snow with a glisten in my eye. Steve
