Location: Warrenville,IL | I've never been on Eagle, but I'm a Pipestone veteran. All I can tell you is that finding a muskie on Pipestone isn't that hard to do. Lots of fish. Lots of big fish. Rumors (started by the Babe) of 60"+ fish in the system. I've never seen a 60...but I've seen some real cows.
From what i understand, Eagle is pretty much a gold mine as well.

| Eagle is one of my top tens. More likely in the top five. There is so much water to fish, and so much variety in water. AML is a great place to park, one of the best. If it is your first trip, I'd really suggest taking at least a half day with a guide. ( I don't know if they have the schedule set for the '08 season of who's who and when they are :D, but I would definately not hesitate to give Mr. Herbeck a shout.

(Not advertising for them, I've just been very pleased when I had the opportunity to do so.) |

Location: Downers Grove, IL | I'm the opposite of Jamie. I went to Eagle and Canada for that matter, for the first time this year. Stayed at (where else) Andy Myers Lodge and all's I can do is repeat what you've probably heard from anyone else who's stayed there...
The lodge, accomodations, staff from guides to lodge staff to dock boys were great and Herbie is a top notch host GENUINELY hell bent on all guests catching fish, whether it be him marking up maps and telling you what's working for him and his guide team, or personally taking you out to fish on his night off (he did for me and my buddy).
Aside from AML, Eagle Lake was incredible - beauty, structure of all kinds and some of the biggest fish you'll ever see!
Sounds like you won't go wrong at either lake - good luck!

| Thanks guys. I have heard of AML seems as though they are #1 on Eagle. I have spoke to them and 2 others, one on the southern end of the lake. We would like to target a couple of different species(smallies) but big fish is what I prefer. Any more suggestions would be welcome because I am not normally a guy who targets Muskies. Thanks again Rick |

Location: minocqua, wi. | the eagle lake experience is as good as it gets ... many of us go to AML for the musky fishing, but there are some great opportunities for big pike, walleyes and lake trout with a camp group and guides that will put you on the fish day one and work their tales off to make it a great trip for you whether you are on your own or not ... trust me and others ... it's a great camp for musky fishing and i would argue it to be the best of the best ... but, it's not limited to muskies either and if you want a trip with a balance of species to target ... it's still the place you will be happy you chose.
