Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | When was this reel made by garcia? It is a black reel with polished aluminum, with the magnetic knob on right side of reel. It is a left hand retrieve. My new friend gave it to me because he doesn't fish for musky. I'm thinking late 80's. |

| Are you sure it's a magnetic knob and not a mechanical knob on the right side?
If my memory serves me correctly I'm thinking these were madin in the early 80's but an easy way to tell with Abu's of that era is to look on the bottom of the reel foot. The first two numbers are the year the reel was made. ie. 830201 would have been made in 1983. |

Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | It's mechanical on the right side reelman that is what I meant. The serial number on the reel foot says 87-0 87-88 so built in 1987. thanks reelman. This reel is in great shape and I look forward trying it out, oldest baitcaster I own! Hopefully it works. |
