| I am still new to the fall Muskie fishing scene. I have heard many different theories on what to throw at this time of year. The lake I am fishing is currently at 60 degrees and has not turned over yet. What should I be throwing? Is it practical to buy suckers? Should I focus on Top Water? Bucktails? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Also are muskie shallow or deep at this time of year...? |

| It really depends on the lake. There are some lakes that I fish only in the shallows in the fall and others where I find the fish deeper. If they are up shallow toss double cow-girls or big spinner baits, jerkbaits, and even topwater.
For deeper fish I love throwing pounder bulldawgs and other soft plastics.
I wouldn't start with suckers until the water cools a bit more. I usually have more luck in the low 50's with suckers.
Good luck. |

Location: Madison Wi. Chain | I like very shallow especially if there is a great deal of Milfoil and you get get over the top of it. However, the first suckers of the season on a specific body of water can be deadly. Take both and see what the fish want. GOOD LUCK! BG |
