I'm thinking of trying them on a smaller lake with a little 14ft boat. Can I just keep a couple extra in a styrofoam bucket or will they die? How about in a livewell (not an option on the smaller lake)?

If the water is cool, they should keep fine. I fished with them in 50 degree water yesterday and they were quite lively. They worked too, as at least 7 fish were caught on suckers on the lake I was fishing. I hear they'll jump too, so keep the lid on.

I would highly suggest a battery powered aerator if you use a cooler or bucket. $20 will pay for itself pretty quick when suckers are $2-4
