Location: Waukesha, WI | Will more muskies be caught if you place a spinner in front of a sucker or add a rubber worm or two to the sucker? Or will this be too much extra stuff on the sucker and therefore cause the muskie not to bite? I'll be fishing in what I expect will be murky turn over water. Any suggestions as to what lakes in Vilas or Onedia will not be turning over this weekend?

Location: midwest | If you want to make your sucker more visible I would suggest a tail gunner type spinner such as the one on this page http://www.muskyshop.com/modules/cart/navigate.php/nav_id/24 or you can simply tie some flashabou type material to an aberdeen style hook and put the hook into the back of the dorsal fin on the sucker. You want the blade or flashabou "fin flag" to be hooked into the dorsal fin so if the fish targets that extra color on the strike it hits the middle of the sucker. |

Location: midwest | Rumble fish, if you haven't tried using fin flags on the chain in the dirty water you may be missing out. I always run one when fishing the turnover in other lakes and it can outproduce a standard "naked" sucker. I only use about 15-20 strands of flashabou about 1 1/2''- 2'' long to provide a little flash and a target of sorts for the fish to key on. |
