| Still somewhat new to muskie fishing and annual trip coming up. I am adding to my lures and want to try a Fuzzy Duzzit for some vertical jigging. I will be fishing in Northern WI (Vilas Cty area) in a couple weeks. Never used one but research seems to suggest it is worth a try. Question is what is the best color to try?
Thanks! |

| For most lakes I like the black bait with the gold tape. But if you know you are into a cisco population, I'd go with the black with silver tape. When they first came out the only ones I had were black/silver tape and they worked fine everywhere. If you are deep enough I don't know that it matters. It's more about the clanking and vibrating and whether it's silver or gold tape is probably irrelevant.
I'd highly recommend adding a solid strand .041-.045 leader about a foot long. Add it right to the bait. Turn a nice big loop on each end and tie direct to that. It's a lot less fouling. He used to sell them this way but I don't think he does now. And watch the hole where you attatch it. It WILL wear through eventually and you don't want it to come through when you have a fish on.
You are going to be surprised at what you catch doing this! Besides a musky, that is. |

Location: Land of the Musky | Match the hatch (bait fish colors) or go with a crazy color. IMO go big now too with vibration or rattles.

| Thanks fellas.
Any descriptions on how you have successfully used them would also be appreciated. I think I have the basics in terms of finding the baitfish and get the lure down amongst them, but from there, complete rookie. I have jigged for crappie but not sure what exactly to do here. Is the action based on quick hard jerks up and letting it fall back down?
Again- thanks for any help. I have only caught a handfull of muskies and they have all been on suckers. I want so badly to catch one this fall on a lure- any lure- so I am seeking as much info and adding new baits to try and help. |
