[:((] The snows have all just melted away and I'm still waiting for the call that says I can get my boat out of storage. (never again) Believe it or not, a very few guys are still ice fishing local backwaters, but of course, they are idiots.

Good luck to you folks who will be thrashing more southerly waters!! I hope to see some new pics posted sunday evening, boys.

No fishing for me, to much ice. I saw cars on the ice on Monday. Me thinks that they are pushing their luck. Getting the boat out of storage on Saturday though. Good luck to all of you that can get out.

Lake X fish are spawning...I was told not to come down.

I guess the fox chain is my best bet..for what thats worth.

The fish are spawning. If you want to waste your time and money, feel free to come on down. Jason heard this from me and Corey.

Matt's got it right, they are spawning.
I was there Friday, Saturday and left early Sunday morning. We caught one 30" male, everyone I talked to caught small fish or nothing at all, the action was very S_L_O_W!!!! I fished Friday night for about 2 hours and didn't see a thing, all day Saturday and got the 30"er, didn't even fish Sunday. I will be back Monday night and Tueday, will give you a report when I return!

Well first Slamr poisoned Boro's boat with his curse and now he's poisoned Ralphs boat. Neither boat is doing diddly this year. Then the doofus gets on this board on the way out the door and says
"The question is with this many good sticks, how funny will it be if the group blanks!!!???"
Well that put the hex on the whole outing! He's like a black cat.

I was the one that boated the 30" in Ralph's boat and YES the fish ARE spawning. Don't waste your time. I have booked several days out there for 15+ hrs straight and fished every single moment. This weekend was soo tough, relatively speaking for a barrel of fish, that I actually contemplated joining a certain someone's Tuffy Deep Sleep Esox found drifting aimlessly across the pond with both fisherman napping on the floor. A few little males showed theselves and 3 were caught across 4 boats but that was it.

As for some of the other issues above in this thread....
Slamr is the king of transparent diversion but what at the time may have been a diversion tactic has turned into reality. All the hype and the running of the same article in every single magazine you can think of has brought the boats from far and wide to lake x. There were only a couple bubba bassers out on Saturday and the lot at the ramp was full early. Several rigs were parked in the street which I understand is illegal. Just wait till the bassers get their rigs out of moth balls! I think all future references to Lake x should be titled "The Zoo".

Well. since Slamr is finally coming forward, I might as well too. Yesterday I got a 78incher, bent the fish in half and stuffed it in my livewell. I took her home with me and put her in the swimming pool. I had to remove someones rear deck from a line that was attached to her bottom jaw. I'm surprised that fish struck a lure with that line, deck and all still attached to her. Luckily, I got out of there before some wise guy started dumping chemicals in the lake and then began to set off the depth charges. I think it was Slamr.

Mikie, because of the storms/downpours, we opted to head north to pymatuming instead. It still was raining, but wasn't bad. Never saw a fish, didn't get on the water until 3 because of the storms though.

Yep they are a spawning! I managed one 28.5 inch male (first slime in the new boat!) and my partner Brad shook off about a 30 incher at the boat...3 other strikes but no hooks. watched the DNR remove ~50 muskies from the nets. some very solid fish in the nets...the biggest though was about 43ish. The REALLY big ones hadn't been caught yet. I ask the guy when were the fished removed from the nets prior to our witnessing, he said the day before!
water temps as high as 59 degrees at times/places.

Best part was leaving early on sunday and missing the Chicago traffic!

Oh yeah and that nap Brad and I took for 45 minutes was AWESOME! Amazing how far you can drift in 45 minutes!

Though we stunk up the joint on Tippy Sunday, I am more than psyched to troll til I learn that big beautiful lake. Downriggers and yellow birds are definitely in Azrael's future.....2 state records out of James (connected to Tippecanoe for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about) and we where basically all alone, while there had to be 20 boats on Webster by 9:30AM. Chase your numbers if you like, but I'm going to be figuring out what I foresee to be Indiana's TROPHY lake for the future. Deep, clear, very little fishing pressure, shad schools.....drooling now just thinking of it!!!

I applaud all you guys who are willing to drive 4-6 hours to catch nothing. I was able to accomplish the same feat on the Fox Chain while only driving 15 minutes. Keep up the good work.

I have gone back to my original screen name because the new one isn't catching any fish.

Dave, I have not yet even bought a sticker to fish the algae pits. I am not so sure that I will. Let see, fish a lake that is stocks with one fish per eight or ten acres or one that is stocked with a poop load per acre. Hmmm, help me decide.

I really dig that set up we had...drive the boat up to the cabin and walk to dinner and entertainment!! Very cool!
