Fall has arrived. It's been in the 40's all day today with big west winds, is forecast to hit 38 tonight and about the same tomorrow night. Highs in the 40's the next couple days. Friday night it's supposed to be 30 degrees.

I'll miss the crazy topwater bite we have had the last few weeks, but am looking forward to the Big 'Eyes on Pelican and the Muskies on Quick Strikes...

I love Autumn, it could be Fall all year and I'd be happy.

Has Fall arrived by you yet?

It's feeling a bit chillier here in Point today....or at least it was when I walked to class at 8 and back at 9. Although I cant say much for the rest of the day becuase I slept from 9 to 5 today......Looks like fall out there though.

Getting there. Tomorrow will really make it feel like it. High of 54 with rain. I'm thinking of taking a day off next week and hitting Merritt Reservoir, or Cottonwood/Steverson. Not traditional musky waters, but they bothhold 40+" fish.

Felt it arriving here in Ohio today. Blustery NW winds, LOTS of geese on my lunchtime bass pond, about 15 degrees cooler today and another 20 or so tomorrow....the bass must have felt it too, because I nailed 7 of them at lunch on a Mepps Muskie Marabou chartreuse with a big colorado blade....plus a bonus walleye. Throwing muskie lures with my muskie rig preps me for the day (should it ever come) when I can next fish a muskie lake. I'm always surprised at the 10-20" largemouth that will just devour a large lure. Not bad for a lunch break! In 2 weeks I'll mix in some goose hunting.

Fall (and winter) have arrived on the LOTWs. Couple of inches of snow in the area. High today was 39, 30mph winds with gusts to 40. Snow/sleet/rain all day on the lake. Water temps in the low 50's and falling. Got a nice 46"er trolling.

Got to like the fall!

Fall was here last weekend but has again been replaced by late summer...
Looks like it's going to make a comeback on the weekend again. I love the rotten weather on the weekends - it drives the recreational boaters nuts.

sworral, I have a group of guys coming up to Pelican Oct 18 - 21 for our ~20th
annual fall muskie chase. What do you think the conditions will be as far as turnover. Throughout the years we have hit all conditions. Turnover can be tough especially when Pelican turns that milky brown color. Thanks for your help.

Pelican should be turned by then, if it gets as cold as they say it is going to.

Heading up to phillips for the rest of week today, looks like it's gonna be a chilly one! Bring on fall! Steve what were the water temps in your area? Don't lakes normally turn around the 50 degree mark?

Jimbo,
I will have a report for you Thursday night. I would think with current conditions Pelican is in the midst of turnover as we speak. With the high winds we have had the last couple days the "mixing" should be accelerated.

Thanks Norm, haven't been out since the Lakeview tourney where I didn't see a fish. So I am getting anxious to go. Congrats on placing in that tourney? I seen you go past my boat a few times working that top water pretty hard.

Went out today. Air temp. upper 40 degrees, water temp. 66!!!! Made the water feel like bath water to my cold hands. Was raining when I left the house so I opted for a local (non- Musky) lake. On & off rain & 20 MPH winds were abit tricky, but the pike & bass were chompin'. Right up in the shallow weeds where they should have been a month ago. Rain finally settled in for good & I reluctanly called it a day. But it sure felt like fall "finally".
