| I've never done much night fishing or trolling but I'm guessing that may be a pretty good play this time of year.
Any ideas about how to get started? speed, baits, depths, etc. Shallow stained lakes, deep lakes, etc? suspended bite, etc?
I'm thinking Jakes and Believers 40-60' back, 3.5-4 mph, just off the weedlines. Maybe throw in a Depthraider or Bulldawg? how about suspenders over deep water? Spinnerbaits over weed flats works this time of year during the day - is that a good night pattern too?

| Steve, Iv'e tried WBL all night trolling. My thinking was; it's a clear lake, lots of rec traffic during the day, nice long trolling setups. But 6 trips in the last 2 seasons haven't had the success I had hoped for. Darker metro lakes are better but I don't know why. Keeping baits clean is the battle night or day. I actually have better success in mid fall at mid day. I keep forgeting there are no rules for muskie fishing. Duff |

| I have always had the best luck trolling in the metro early in the year before the thermocline fully sets up and later in the year after turnover. The mid-summer night trolling bite seems like it ought to produce on those 90 degree days but honestly it is more of a waste of time than anything. |
