I have a Garmin 240C on the bow and am recieving a poor reading on the screen. I can't get a depth less then 5 or more then 20 feet and weak in between. So I lislened to the transducer and the ticking (pulse) misses a few beats every few seconds. This doesn't seem normal. What do you think, bad transdcer, connection or the unit itself? Maybe I need to change a setting on the unit ? I have had bad transducer before that didn't pulse at all. Thanks for help. Jeff Kroha

Go to the garmin website and send them an email. They respond within 24 hours and were very helpful when I have had questions

I have a similar problem with a LCX113HD. Could not get depths less than 5 feet and more than 20. Weak inbetween. GPS works fine. Lowrance sent me a new tranducer. New transducer did not fix the problem. I reinstalled the 1st tranducer next to the replacement but instead of running it on the same path as I did to bring it to the console, I just brought it over the back and let it lay on the floor. Connected it to the back of the unit and it worked fine. None of the old issues came back. I am thinking I am getting interference somewhere along the path I ran the transducer wire originally. Anybody have this issue. Thoughts? Thanks!

Hey Chris, Thanks for the reply. I don't believe I'm having the same problem as you. It's the same way even when it's the only thing powered on in the boat. Also the unit is on the front casting deck and the transducer is on the bow mount troller.I've heard of interferance issues when a motor is running or when another unit is on, more so in aluminum boats. My main concern is the transducers interupted pulse. I would like everyone to go out to your boat, turn on your unit and listen to the transducer. Then reply please. Thanks,Jeff
