Location: New Brighton, MN | I'm headed to Lake Vermillion for my first trip this Saturday with a good buddy. Although we're both beginners to muskie fishing, we've casted our arms off for 2 years now with little results. We've decided to test out some more proven waters rather than the local swamps that have just a few stubborn, over-fished, hogs. I'm looking for advice on lodging, restaurants/bars in the area, as well as ANY tips or insights on fishing.
I don't want to hit the water completely blind... How do you suggest I approach Vermillion? Any locations, certain bays or islands to hit? Depths, lures, presentations, patterns, time of day/night, particular structure? Is it a decent lake to troll? are we anywhere near turnover? Will a local detailed map keep me out of trouble?
Anything will help.
Don't hesitate to PM me. | |

| Speed kills, fish main lake stuff, and pound the water hard. you may get one chance a day, but that could easily be a 50". so dont blow it.
wind blown sides of rock bars/reefs. stay on the move and just keep going.
