| I am well aware of the success of Double Cowgirl and the big fish that it has produced. Why do I never see any mention of the Double Showgirl, which is basically a smaller copy of the Cowgirl? It just seemed odd to me. The Double Showgirl is about the same size as a Llungen DC8. I ask because I fish waters that don't produce many big fish (few if any fish over 48") and assumed the Showgirl was a better fit. Does anyone fish the Double Showgirl or is bigger always better? |

| Showgirls work! no reason not to throw them and they may infact be a better option on lakes where the fish generally feed on smaller forage. |

Location: Yahara River Chain | I had a fish on last Tuesday on a gold double showgirl. They work, just throw them. It just may be that the DCG gives off a LOT more vibration and this is what triggers those fish.
BTW - The DCG will also work fine on those smaller lakes that produce very few fish over 48" as well. My buddy caught 2 - 30" pike on the DCG. They catch smaller fish as well. |

| If speed is more of a trigger that day than vibration go with the showgirl. If Vibration is the key that day go cowgirl. |

Location: Hayward, WI | I don't have a double Cowgirl, but I have a Double Showgirl. I agree with speed on the Showgirls. I am not sure, but I almost feel like most of my Mepps Marabous and Ghost Tails, etc. have more vibration, or move more water than a double showgirl. The Double Showgirl doesn't pull that hard at all, and the blade angle seems pretty shallow (near to the shaft).
I haven't fished a Cowgirl, but watched a guy use one. The blades seemed to have a pretty high angle, and boy did they push water when it came close to the surface near the boat!
I think the double (and single) Showgirl are good baits, but built for much different applications than the DCG is. |

| Thanks to all for the explanations as to to difference between the DCG and the DSG. Perhaps I was oversimplifying when I thought the Showgirl was just a smaller version of the DCG. I guess the #8 Colorado is nothing compared to a #10. I just got the bait and will be throwing it for the first time next weekend. That flashabou sure looks purty. |
