Hi All! I just wanted to share a report about a pike fishing trip I went on a couple weeks ago with John Mich. We went to Taltson Bay Big Pike Lodge and tore 'em up. 1,043 for the week between 5 of us. A perfect tune-up trip for the upcoming fall muskie season! I highly recommend it! There's a bunch of pics and videos that are up on the site www.taltsonbaypike.com . Pretty cool place and a great way to break in some muskie gear!

The average size was in the 37" range. 123 fish were between 41-50". Of the 1,043 total fish I think maybe 10 could be called hammer handle pike. Even the 35" ones went 11lbs. It's truly an unreal fishery. The only reason we're letting the cat out of the bag is because the fishery is so good and the reservation numbers are so limited (12 in camp max.). If this were some other big name place where you could have a business retreat I wouldn't even mention it due to possible pressure. But when you have 20+ miles of river and a couple hundred square miles of delta where the average pike is just south of 40", it's a preety safe fishery. I was VERY impressed. As a muskie guy for 2 decades it was nice to throw a couple times and crack 40" instead of throwing 10,000.
