| My wife is not sufficiently proud of me nor giving me nearly enough play, and I'm not really looking for it here, as that would be less than manly, but fully manly to crow about it. Had this 6.3:1 orange Abu that I loved 'cause it's orange, and hated it 'cause it's 6.3:1 and I can't really hang with that for most of my musky fishing, so come to find out (Thanks Lambeau) that you can just switch gears. Bought a 5.3 set from ebay and Wa-Freakin-La! Who knew? Apparently most but me.
Dig it. More useful reel for only 7 bucks!

| Thanks for the tip. I think I'll be doing the same.

| I learned that abu gears will fit most 5500 and 6500 series - Love that adaptability.

| One nice thing about Abu's is that they are like Constructor Sets (who here is old enought to remember those?) and you can put parts from most reels in other reels to "customize" them. And that they are easy to take apart.
Another thing you guys might want to think about is that 3.8 to 1 gears are also available for these reels. I don't know if Ebay has them but you could order them directly from Abu. They are from the 5600C4 Winch.

| RCN60's come with 5.3 gears and RCN40's and 50's come with 6.3 geears, these can be interchanged with each other but they are different gears than the C3 and C4's. |

| I did the switch last year with a C4. Basically turing it into a C3. Works great. |
