Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on these motors. I presently run an 05' optimax but am looking at purchasing a boat with an EFI on it. The boat is really well priced but don't want to jump on it until I get some feedback on the EFI.

I had an '02 225 EFI which is the big block V-6. Only things I can add to this is:

1. The EFI is basically a turn the key and go motor. Cold, warm or hot...didnt matter.

2. My 225 was one thirsty SOB, but I liked to go fast My guess is that you get 25-40% poorer gas mileage vs a comparable Opti....this is a guess based on what I have read.

I'd buy a boat with one w/o hesitation!
