| Here's an interesting topic I thought could be discussed now that were talking about the greatest fisherman, how about: who makes the greatest baits or who has the greatest lure company out in the musky world? What are your top 5?
1) Bucher Tackle-from the beginning, Bucher lures have been common lure in my box as well as on my rod. There great quality and only seem to get better as time goes on.
2) Musky Maina Tackle-this is close to being 1st with the way they are coming out with new lures every year. Once again, great quality and I have them all.
3) Slammer Lure Company-these baits seem to have the best "action" I've ever seen on any crankbaits out on the market. I haven't tried any of there other baits yet, but this year I most definitely will.
4) Grim Reaper Lure Company-definitely not the most popular, but these sure catch fish. When nothing else works, a Grim Reaper Spinnerbait always seems to get action. This is definitely a personal favorite.
5) Tie between Hi-Fin Lure Company and Mouldy Lure Company-both make some of the best topwater baits on the market. I couldn't deside on one so I picked them both.

| Top 5 Tackle companies, or maybe I will chose the companies that make my top 5 favorite lures.
1. Musky Mania, I love that Burt.
2. Fudally Tackle, Reef Hawgs and the Stump Hawg spinner bait.
3. Mepps, the best mass produced bucktail that there is.
4. Poe's, where would I be without a Giant Jackpot.
5. Bucher Tackle, my favorite crankbait the Depthraider. Also what about those Top Raiders?
Honorable mention, Mouldy's Topper Stopper.....WOW.
and Lungen Lures, Jerko oh my goodness. You don't hardly need any more lures.

| I may be a little biased here because I have known and fished with Joe for the last 25 years but I would say Bucher Tackle is tops, Joe produces some great baits, terminal tackle and stands behind each and every lure he produces.

| I like all of them! Laugh if you want, but I have a sucker pattern Burmek that I sometimes tie on + reel it very slow...the wiggle is pretty neat...I really like the TR Twitchers + have 2 Slammers that will only be fished in the Gulf Stream in 300'+ of water w/ NO fish w/in 300 miles! I think each bait co. is the best at some time or another.[:sun:] |

| I have to take my hat off to Bucher Tackle. A couple of weeks ago, I broke one of their Shallow Raiders while casting. I wrote a note explaining what happened and sent it to Tom Dietz. In about a week, UPS delivered a brand new replacement lure.
Thank you to Tom and the rest at Bucher Tackle for your great customer service![:)] |
