I took my friend to Mille Lacs on Friday and Saturday for his first ever Musky trip. This was his first time even using a bait casting reels. Friday started of pretty slow which was great for us, because it was flat calm and would give us time to do a little bait casting 101. After a few minuets of casting we were off to our first spot. After a couple follows we went in for a quick meal so we would be ready for a night bite At 6:45 i raised a fish on a magic maker and got him to eat on a figure 8. after a little fight we had our first fish an 42" spot. After that we fished for a few more hours wih nothing so we called it a night. On saturday we got up for some early fishing an had a few fish up with no takers, so about 10 we went in for a quick nap. We got back out and raised a few more with no takers. At 9 pm and our trip almost over it happened my friend Joel hooked into his very first muskie. after a very short fight maybe 45 seconds we had it in the net. when we got a light on the fish we saw what we had. a 55x26. How about that for a first fish. After a quick photo shoot we put the fish back home, and started casting, after a couple more hours we called it a trip. what a great weekend.

Did you catch this fish with Lee Tauchen on Saturday night? He called me about 10:00pm with a report of a 55x26 CPR'd on a Figure8 BigMama. Lee also reported that Jim Linder had a 48" and 52.5" on BigMama's the other day. It seems all the big blades are producing well this year. I have had multiple reports of 50+ fish on the BigMama the past few weeks. Congratulations on your first musky!!!!

Scott, that was us. I have sent pictures to Mr. Worrall to post for me. Lee really knows his stuff. I am very impressed with the Big Mama, you really are putting out some nice baits.
