| I just bought a new in the box 6501 UC reel on eBay. I no longer see these reels in Cabelas, Rollies, or on the Abu website, or in the Abu literature they recently sent me. Does anyone know if they are going to continue making these? Will parts continue to be easy to find? I also discovered that Berkley, Fenwick and Abu are now owned by the same company. Abu Garcia will no longer make their Conolon rods, muskie or other rods- they are making cheaper "Workhorse" rods. By the way, Fisherman's Factory Outlet (keywords)has some of the Conolon 7 ft. bucktail rods on closeout for $48.

| They did discontinue the ultracast line. Why? Foolish decision in my opinion. They are awesome reels. For the money you won't find a better reel. The morrums are great reels too, but much more expensive. You should still be able to get any parts you might need. | |
