The hard baits are quite amateur in nature. I've just recently started playing with them, however but run wll push up a nice big wake, lots of bubbles. They create quite a stir. I've really got to work on my painting, if I ever intend to paint anything but black.

The bladed baits are baits that I use, colorwise, in a couple lakes around here. The double is full of orange/gold/brown/ Olive back. Very good produce at a lake in North Central NE. Also, I've done pretty well on that combo elsewhere. Sort of a carp/sucker/perch searching pattern. Works particularly well for me in stained water.

Sorry for the low rez photos, I didn't realize when I was posting that they were actually hosted here. My fault.

Solid! I like the thick profile of your bottom hard bait. I bet it pushes a lot of water!!! I also like the seemingly generous amounts of material you've got tied on your 'tails. Definitely no skimping there!

Thanks. Yeah the lower bait really pushes water, with hooks on, even more so. The top bait just kinda bubbles and sputters with a decent wake, it works well at a bit slower pace. Both do what I was after, really.
I like a heavy profile on my bucktails, as heave as possible without interfering with the hooks. It seems that Sili-legs/rubber really helps with that aspect of things. I go through about ten 6" pre-cut strands per layer, I guess that would make it somewhere in the 120 strand range on each bait.

Whoolligan,

Have you thought of putting a big double prop on the back of the topwaters? I may have some soon for some baits I am making (will know soon). I may make an extra 10,000 for stamina or the like for sale. Not sure but Rollie may have some right now. Just an ideal to get a big splash in the back while getting a setup splash in the front from your current lure.

FYI-They look great as-is too! Alos like the bucktails!

I have thought of that, but couldn't really find what I was looking for. I was going to try a delta wing next time, and see what happened.
I fished the topwaters today, and they worked great. Moved two fish on the chopper, hooked one and lost it.
I learned two things, even a sub 40" fish will terrorize a bait in a huge way. The second, if I continue to turn these, and use thru wire, I need to find something along the lines of .063 or .072. .051 just doesn't cut it.
When you get the chance, PM me with the specifics on those blades, it might be just the ticket for the top of the two.
