As of today an emergency order was issued making all of the lakes in Madison no wake.

Awesome...no rec boaters. Now I just need to get out there.

Monona and Waubesa have risen over a foot in the last week.

Hate to be getting this much rain but like the sound of the no wake! Any Madison Chain reports? Need to head to Madison to pick up some things for work and if the boat happens to follow along well, you know what that means......

i'm planning to be down there Sunday and if i can run the middle of the lake that would be much nicer for spot-hopping.

AH here!
http://www.co.dane.wi.us/press/default.asp?frmPRID=848

That's from the 22nd, just got off the phone with a couple people from the county. They are looking into any further information, one said it was the whole lake, the other said it was the 500 ft from shore.

The press release is pretty clear. No wake within 500' of the shoreline on the entire Yahara Chain. Mendota, Monona , Waubesa and Kegonsa. No wake anywhere in Squaw Bay. I am printing it out and putting it in my boat.

Love pushing the Merc to the limit on some lakes (big lakes), but the slow-no-wake is great for you musky guys fishing down there. I imagine a jet ski is no fun that slow, and pretty hard to waterski at that speed, LOL.

Sheriff was out checking boats today, make sure you've got your stuff straight and follow the no-wake restrictions.

Where are the hotspots for Skis this time of year on Monona and Mendota? Anyone know how the launch is at Lottes Park? Thanks

Not many "skis" in Mendota these days. It hasn't been stock in some time (like 10 -15 yrs). However, they do migrate up from Monona. But not in numbers worth fishing for. Stick to Monona, Waubesa, & Wingra if you are fishing for "skis".

I have no clue where Lottes Park is. Most landings should be fine for usage. I would say low water would limit launches rather than high water.

Plan on walking through water to get to the docks at Babcock, and Lottes launches at the moment
