Location: Contrarian Island | i'm pretty sure you are fine as long as it isn't bent..if it's just gone you are fine...the cabin boat at our place pretty much doesn't have a skeg....dealer in mercer said it was fine to run as / is...

Location: NW WI | Put on a Skeg Gard http://www.skeggard.com/ and never worry about it again.
I have one for sale that'll fit the lower unit on a 2002 Merc 225 EFI or similar if you or anybody is interested. |

Location: Roseau | Thanks for the replies, ended up being alot more then just the skeg. Had the old man load the boat and haul home, well he forgot to raies the motor and broke the skeg off and damaged the prop and bent the prop shaft. Total bill on that came to $1100.00. Oh well, it is in getting fixed and should have her back this weekend.
Thanks |

Location: Willoughby, Ohio | I had a bent shaft as well. I got lucky though. I have a buddy working at a machine shop. He put it in their press and got it within 0.004 inch. Works well enough now. |
