Can anyone give any insight to fishing the Angle in mid September? I usually go in July, but had to postpone this years trip. Are they still up shallow for bucktail/topwater or is it more of a crankbait deal?

Thanks

We went to Monument Bay lodge Labor Day week last year. Bloom was in full effect and fishing was slow. Even though it was our first trip to LOTW we still managed some nice fish. Two mid 30"s, a 48" personal best for me and a 50" personal and family best for my nephew. Through research and help from some guys on this board we got a milk run together of known hot spots. Concentrated on rocks and threw bucktails, topraiders, cranks and jerks. Lots of thrilling follows on the topraiders and bucktails. 50"er hit a shallowraider, and I caught my 48"er on a Slidin Shad glide bait. Good luck up there, just try to stay out of the pea soup and you should be fine. Oh, there was very little boat traffic so that was a bonus!

Good deal, thanks for the info. I am heading to Monument Bat as well.
