Im having difficulties updating my Lowrance Lcx26cHD. I've downloaded the upgrade and inserted the mmc card with the downlod in to the unit. All the instructions on the Lowarnce web site say is turn it on with the card in place and the unit will upgrade itelf. Not happening. Unit still shows that I'm operating under 1.1.0 Ill try the Lowrance tech service again tomorrow. I also would like to check that my Navionics and Hotspots cards have not been damaged and/or erased. Anyone on the N/W side of chicogo willing to let me try my cards in your units to see if there is anything on them? The lowrance site does recommend this in trobleshooting why cards wont read. Dying to get this thing up and running. Hasnt happened since I got it.
Thanks,
Karl

Karl, make sure you extract the file before saving it to the memory card you are putting in the machine....i did the updates for some units and if i remember right, once you get the file you have to open it or double click on it before saving it to the mmc card...when you put it in, it will automatically load to the machine...i'm guessing you didn't do one step before saving it to the card....

Also, make sure any other mmc cards i.e. map chips, are out of the unit before updating.

OkayI've installed the upgrade for the LCX26cHD great. NOW I cant get the upgrade for the LCG-2000(gps module) installed. GRRRRRRRR. Yet another call to Lowarnce. What a pain in the keyster. Their hours are 9am-5pm. now that I'm working those hours what to do???? Bring the boat with me to work so I can wait 30 minutes for a rep to actually get to my call then "take a break", run outside and fiddle with my Lowrance......ugh! Not many options here I guess.
