When you guy are fishing rocks are you fishing the tops of them even if theres only a foot of water on the tops. Any luck catching them on the deeper edge away from the tops. Any info would help. Thanks

Depends on time of year, time of day, and conditions. Yes, the top will sometimes hold fish, as will the breakline and the deep edge. Fish it all!

Ditto on what Steve said. Your goal is to find a pattern, the only way you can do that is to eliminate areas... so fish it all!

They will also hold just OFF the rocks too....

Don't be afraid to stop the motor out aways and work your way into the reef..especially if you have a deep spine etc.

Yep, they are everywhere.

Too many guys motor right up to the exposed portion and pound it without exploring the rest of the structure.

Very common on LOTW as you see guys pounding the exposed rocks.

if you're pulling up to a rock hump, reef, whatever it is...make a pass shallow casting at the rock then one deep barely getting close to the rock. Whichever pass works apply to other rocks and you have a pattern working.

I would Tend to run my deep pass first over the shallow pass, especially on clear waters Like eagle. Those big girls are SMART....why take the chance of spooking one that is holding a little deeper while you slide up to do your shallow run first??

my two cents...
