Fished north metro lake from 8pm until 1am. Great conditions including moonrise just before 1:00, midweek so light pressure and light winds. Pretty much everything I would want for night fishing and we never moved a fish. Worst metro bite I have ever seen in 20+ year of muskie fishing.

I added to my long list of small fish this year w/ another 2 little guys on Friday. Today I took my boys out and got a 14" largemouth, a 17.5" smallmouth and a 35" tiger that was in really rough shape. It hasn't exactly been a banner year...
taking Pointerpride out tonight, maybe we'll get something worthy of a picture.

Spent a day over on Mille Lacs fishing with my brother and Musky Troy. Tough day, but still Troy popped a nice 44.5, nothing quite like 4 footers rolling after midnight onto rocks, Stevie weasel caught my 51 on Sunday nite the nice brother that he is:), I will be back there and next time for more than 1 day!!!

My brother was coming home from the cities Friday night and Sat. morning and he has recently gotten into fishing over there (Bass) and I had a softball tournament throughout the weekend, but I told him that we'd definitely get out for a while. Friday night, I got home at 2:00; woke him up and told him to be ready around 5:30. We headed out as the sun was rising in the morning and heard a storm was going to be coming in. I told him he was going to see a musky before the end of the morning. Get the boat on the water, he's tying his bass line and on my 4th or 5th cast, I have one chomp on the figure-8....no clue how big it was as the water was really choppy. Good thing I explained how to net a fish quick before we put the boat in because this girl took a good 5 really strong runs each time he came up close to the boat. Great net job by my brother, Jason, and I knew I had my season best in the net! Great feeling...especially after a good 3 hours of sleep. Measured jusssst a hair under 45" with a big body and a huge head.
After seeing that, I told him he had to throw musky baits for a while and he didn't argue for a second after seeing that for his first musky! After a while, I told him we'd hit some good bass spots for him for a while. He slayed the bass catching 5 over 16" within an hour or two, with the biggest being 17.75". Had to be off the water by 11:00 so I could get back for softball. It's a great feeling knowing he's into fishing and that we can share that passion now; plus he lives right by Lake Harriet (Nice muskies I hear). We both had a blast and I was reminded again of why I fish from the musky, but mostly by being able to have a few hours on the boat with my brother.
Here's the pics of the musky and one of his bass.

Fished Namakagon this weekend. Raised 4, no takers. It was hard fishing becasue of all the pleasure boaters, plus 80 degree water temps didn't help much either.

I think he is saying that they had 4 footers on Saturday night and his brother Steve went back and caught his 51 on Sunday after he left for home?
