ok my partner dropped a burning ash from a cig. Made a 1/2 inch hole. I can get a piece of carpet from an inconspicuous spot. Can you use pvc cement to glue the new piece in. Please give me advice on how to do.

Hey DH,
I will bring you a piece of carpet. Use contact cement, available at any hardware store, and she's brand new. Set your partner FREE!!

Steve, I'm in Waukesha right now but wife is at the cottage. I will be back up thurs. Contact cement is going to hold? Schoeder's Marine said they thought the guy that fixes this stuff use pvc cement cause it melts the fibers into the bottom of the boat. Have you heard of this? My partner was the guy you met on tues. night league when I ran into to you on Crescent. He and the jug are still floating around in Radtke's Bay.

Contact cement is what most boat manufacturers use to put it down in the first place. You will be good to go.
