Location: Oconto Falls, WI | Big Baits, Big Fish! Pounders and Two Pounders are catching fish, and I think people are crazy for throwing them. It's just beyond the limits for this little guy to throw.
However, if I keep finding baitfish like this floating I am going to start the Barry Bonds workout program! 
We found this whitefish dead a few weeks ago. This one was 26 1/2" long. That is one big morsal as whitefish are very "deep". This thing goes an easy 5 lbs, if not more. Not sure if this is considered "big" or not, but the fish jaw measured 6" wide at 3" in from the end of it's mouth. Big fish or not, it's impressive that it attacked this whitefish. This is the second one I have found on this lake. The other was 25" long!

The pictures don't show it well here. The whitefish was grabbed twice by the musky. Once just behind the head (where the bitemark is meausred), and once near the back where the worse dammage was done. |

| My partner and I spotted a very large Muskie on the Fox Chain in IL in June with a 22"-24" Carp T-Boned in her jaws. That Carp had to weigh 5# and she was shaking it like a bulldog. |

| The next question that naturally occurs, "why don't we see more big musky?"
First you eat a 5 pound lunch, then you go digest it for x days before its time to eat again.
I'm thinking a few 5 pounders down the hatch and the season between spawning and freezup is over. |

| Who knows.I know a lot of guys throwing small bucktails who catch a lot of big Muskies,and Walleye guys catching 50's on small Crappie/Walleye jigs.I saw a mounted Lake Trout that had to weigh 10-12 pounds that had teeth marks right at the gill cover that a giant almost took in one bite from behind right at the boat.When they are feading, I get the feeling they'll hit anything close. |

Location: Seymour, WI | Travis, I've had muskies hit pike up to 25" on quick strike rigs several times and
also caught small muskies that hit pike in the 18"-20" inch range.

| Grass, are you using small Pike for bait? I've been tempted to try that. I fish a little lake near Woodruff and over the course of the week I end up catching 40-50 snakey little pike by accident. I'll guess that about 1/3rd of them have some kind of bite or wound on them.
Some of our European anglers can weigh in on this, but I have read some Euro Pike books that mention this. They call it "Jack Livebaiting". It's a little controversial over there. It would be like using a 18" Musky for bait here.
Grass, how do they hold up on a quick-strike rig?
