Has anyone ever used the bass pro shops bionic blade trigger rods? Not for musky, for bass and pike, of course. what about the top guide on the rod? is it just like a metal piece like on some of the cheaper rods or does it have the ceramic insert, or whatever its called? thanks for the help

i've used the cheaper BPS rods for years (tourney specials) and love them, the reason some rods have the metal tips is that they hold up better with the braided line, which can cut into the ceramic guides. BPS has good pics on their website - if it's a black tip it's usually a ceramic and if it's a silver tip it's usually the metal

I have a couple Bionic Blade and Tourney Specials for when i bass fish down here in the summer in KY. I love both of the rods. They are both high quality and are offered in many different actions. Very sensitive also. Both of the models have the metal silver tip i believe.

One of the best Bass rods I ever used. Very lightweight and a super-sensitive tip.
Mine is a few years old. Cost $50 bucks at the time. Never had any problems with that silver tip.

Go for it.

I have a couple and they are decent for the $. The bionic blades regularly go on sale for $49.95. They were on sale a couple of weeks ago. Watch the flyers.
