My brother and I are headed up to Kenorna, Ontario to fish musky on LOTW. We've fished Canada many times before, but never LOTW. We were just curious if any has fished LOTW around the Kenorna area and if they had any knowledge they would like to pass on. Thanks

My favorite lake is LOTW and my favorite area of the lake is where you are going (Kenora).

Just use common sense while out and NEVER go out without a Canadian Hydrographics map. Dont use the Hot Spots map. The Hydrographics is a must. If you Have a GPS consider a Navionics mapping chip... it works great.

Fishing has been awesome this year. Cooler then normal water has kept the muskie a little bit off there norm but still catchable... with LOTS of follows.

We found jerkbaits worked best although other baits worked also.

good luck and be safe!

Water clarity was good for northern LOTW. Slight stain and not much of an algae bloom as of yet. Some areas are clearer then others. Take for example Moore Bay. This is a much clearer area then some and there are lots of nice fish there. Lots of areas to fish in Moore also.

The Haydes Islands can be awesome for action also, but can be real tricky to navigate without a mapping GPS.

The Kenora area is large so without knowing where you are staying it is difficult to make many suggestions on areas to fish.

Most of the good muskie shops have the Hydrographics maps... like Thorne Brothers. Just make sure you get the right one for the area you are fishing. LOTW is so big I think there are 8 (EIGHT) Maps just for LOTW. For the Kenora region you want map #6212 or 6218...again without knowing where you are going to be its difficult to tell you which one.
