What kind of wax does eveyone use for their boats? What is the differance in the waxes and how often does a boat need to be waxed? Thanks,Paul

If it's a glass boat I would use Macguire's wax. Buddies of mine that have Corvettes only use Macguire's because all the detail shops say it has the best protection for fiberglass.

Fiber glass or paint doesn't make any difference as far as what the wax does. Wax puts a protective coating on the surface to help against fading, minor scratches and dirt buid up. Mequires is one of the best and thier gold series is the one to use if you go with that brand. I personally prefer Turtle wax Emerald. I use it on my trucks as well as my boats.
How often you wax is up to you. I never wash my boat. Just wax it. I've been an automotive painter for 25yrs so I'm probally more fanatical about it and I waxed my rig at least every 2 weeks depending on how long I can put up with a scum line and water spots. If I'm fishing in dirty water, I'll sometimes wax it every other day. It takes no more time than washing it does. But that's just me.
