Just curious if anyone here has owned this reel. I have a friend that's owned several and has been happy but curious what others have experienced.

thx.

Hey Riverman, I have a CV-X and a CV-Z that are on there second and third year respectively. They have been absolutely flawless. The only problem that I've had, is that with all the duck weed in the lake I fish, that builds up around the thumbbar and after about 3/4 of the season the thumbbar won't come all the way up on its own until its cleaned. I'm told this is because of the tight tolerances. Anyway they are an awesome reel and you'd be quite happy with one.

Not a bad reel, do not expect to use them for throwing dawgs and cowgirls all year, it will ruin them... One thing to remember, customer service means alot, my experiences with Daiwa have not been good... Shimano has superior customer service as well as Abu, from what I have heard..
