| I landed my first fish (not huge, maybe low 30's) I caught it as a front was moving in (with 20mph winds rain and huge waves) I fished a weedy dropoff that meets up with a deep channel on the side of an island (and a silver blade/black marabou bucktail was the lure) I had a mid-40's skie chase the same bait right at the boat but I never felt anything even though I could see the fish cover the bait. Is it common for fish to miss baits all-together? I am thinking its possible I pulled the bait away from the fish (but I remember trying to reel until I felt the fish - but I never felt anything) I would appreciate any tips on landing muskies that strike at boatside. A quick comment - after 1 week of musky fishing I am completely obsessed with this sport and I am even considering selling all of my other tackle (except my fly gear for steelhead) I am also getting a different vehicle so I can tow a 16ft deep v! Muskies have literally changed my life...(as far as fishing goes anyway) Thanks...
