MAXIMA BOYCOT!!!

Did a little early season trout fishing today on the Rush River up here in WI and those people at Maxima put me over the edge. Ever since I started using it it's been problems galore. Elephant's memory and pathetic knot strength. It has minimal stretch, but seems to snap easier in cold weather. Today I was twitching a little #6 Husky when about a 22-24" brown smashed it. Magnificent fish! Had it on for maybe 5 seconds, and the line went limp. Not only did I lose a 5$ lure, and a beautiful fish, but the fish is all but a gonner w/a Rapala hanging out of its mouth, just waiting to hang up on something. If you you were thinking of trying this stuff, don't bother. I've had enough trouble for the 2 of us.

I can't let Rob have all the fun!

Stick with trilene and you wont have a problem.

I use maxima exclusively when steelheading. I have never had a problem with it.

It is possible to get a 'bad' spool of ANYBODY's line. Best thing to do is return it for a new spool, to the manufacturer, so one is guaranteed a fresh spool. My bet is that when the new spool arrives, and it will, the line will be much better.[:sun:]

I love the Stren easy cast for my early season trout and steelies, wouldn't use anything else, besides maybe Stren Clear Blue Flour.

But why would you be using anything other than stren?? Low vis green fits my water but it is always gonna be stren for cold water for me.
