| WOW,,,put my new 2pc 8'6 custom from Keith through a wokout this past week on three different lakes.
2 pcs is so nice!!! I know alot of guys feel that "no way" can I EVER consider a 2 pc option because you sacrifice performance and Im too hard core not to demand the ultimate,
No way do you sacrifice anything but get true high performance from these rods.
It sure is nice when moving from boat to truck to resort to home to anywhere not having to plan your turns or 'stabb' the wall, the roof of the resort or house comming through the door not to mention saving wear and tear on the tip like you would with a long 1 pc rod..
You really need to give these a try Keiths got it pegged
I know of a well known muskie writter who bought a few of these
and they are becoming very popular here in Minn with the guys thats how I became a beliver I got to use some of my buddys |

| I wasn't sure about the two piece rod but Keith assured me once I used it I'd love it. As always Keith knows what he's talking about, I use the rod all the time and it 's easy to transport. It handles a wide range of lures and is very light weight. If you want a good muskie rod, buy it from a rod maker that fishes muskies. Keith and his Professional Edge rods are Muskie rods made by a muskie fisherman.

The two piece Diamondback sure is one of their best. Being a rod builder I have a chance to use just about any stick out there. I use the two piece Diamondback about 80% or more of the time. I know the thought of a two piece musky rod really scares some and I would never try to push them to order a two piece.
My opinion......its the best bucktail rod I have ever used.

what would be your recommendations for a good all around bucktail rod that can handle the smaller bucks to the Double cows or DC 10s. I have had a two piece rod for throwin spoons on Lake Mich. and don't have a problem with the thought of a 2 piece. However why would someone be leery about buying a 2pc musky rod? |

Sorry I did not get back sooner. I have been out of town this week with limited computer time.
My recommendation when looking for a one rod does all (small to heavy) would be the heavy Diamondback or the heavy two piece. The two piece has more of a moderate action tip which causes more tip bend. Some do not like that when throwing big double 10s. The heavy action can throw just about all baits but is better with the heavier stuff were the two piece is better with the small stuff. In a perfect world, if you were a musky fisherman that wanted to throw just about any lure you could get by with two sticks....the heavy and the two piece. For those that have fished with me you know that is just about all I use.
As for the concern about two piece rods. I am not sure. I hear all the time during show season "I would never own a two piece" with little reason. The Diamondback might turn some during the day but it is a matter turning the top.
Two years ago I think I was one of the only ones throwing the two piece. It is now becoming one of my more popular custom sticks.
