Woohoo! Finally did it. I was down at Cabela's yesterday and was nosing around in the "Bargain Cave", struck up conversation with a muskie nut who works there (Laverne Jenson/Jensen) and he mentioned that they had a 24v Pinpoint 2700sx in back, an unused/never mounted customer return. Between that and a returned 7800 graph (still had the plastic film on the screen), I got a "brand new" motor and graph for cheaper than I could have gotten just the motor off the main floor. So, it was a deal I couldn't afford to pass up.

I've been coveting one of those for a while, so I'm really excited to have one. The depth track is what I'm really excited about, because usually I end up spending WAY too much time and effort on boat control, and do a sh!tty job while I'm at it. Can't fish, can't concentrate on fishing, and can't work the structure the way I'd like. Plus the added oomf of 24v should be a huge improvement over my 12v bottom of the line MinnKota that came with my boat. (Might actually be able to approach into the wind now!) Now I'm working on making a quick-release bracket for it (too cheap to buy one) because now that I have a nice trolling motor, I don't want to leave it on my boat at hotels, etc.

BTW, when I left the house that morning, I told the wife I was just gonna buy some jig heads and bodies. Oops. []

You are going to love that Motor, just be sure to follow the instructions for setting up the straight ahead function before you try to use it
