Heading up to Wisconsin the 18th & 19th, fishing yellow lake. Then the 20th & 21st, two day guide trip to Mille Lac. Looking for a place to stay on yellow, nothing fancy just something close by with reasonable rates for two people and also a place to stay in Mille Lac. I know August is probably busy just trying to get info now & make reservations. I need somewhere that can accomodate a boat/trailer.

Ike Waltons on the East side of Yellow. Cabin rentals, hotel, bar, maybe tenting?? Should have openings. Nothing fancy, but should be clean and resonable.

I agree - Ike Walton is your best bet on Yellow (on the water, bar, restaurant). For Mille Lacs, check out http://www.reddoorresort.com/. Fish should be moving on the North sand by then.

I would be curious if they have found any more dead fish on Yellow. If you hear anything I would appreciate an email.

Thanks.

I'll second the Red Door.. I have a very small cabin on Mille Lacs and my parents are coming in August and the cabin is not big enough for everyone. After calling around the lake, the Red Door was the cheapest I could find and from what I hear is a very clean place.. I am pretty sure every other people staying there will be chasing muskies too, so you'll be able to compare note with lots of musky fisherman

The Red Door is the place. Motel units as well as cabins and Jim and Patty are super nice people. Steve

McQuiods is a nice place, but it looks like they jacked prices up this year to about $25 / day as compared to the Red Door...Little bit nicer place though!!

Don,

What's the story with the dead fish on Yellow? Haven't been there this year, so I haven't heard anything about that.

Thanks guys I appreciate all the info. Just made all my reservations at the Ike Walton & Red Door.

Now the hard parts over, just hoping for decent weather and having 4 enjoyable days on & off the water.

Dhacker...I'll let you know if I here anything about that. Hope it wasn't too severe, was it just muskies or all species?

Thanks again.
