I need 2 trailer tires replaced and was going to get Good Year Marathons but there is a backorder on the ones I need. I am heading to MN on Tues so I have to get something. The guy at the large tire dealer I talked to said he has Towmaster tires in stock that come out of the same plant as the Marathons, same rating etc for $20 less each. Anyone heard anything good/bad about these???
Thanks

I just got two sets of two for my Gambler trailer; one set last fall and one this spring. They seem to ride well, hold air, no complaints so far. I told the dealer I wanted ABC's (anything but Carlysles). To be fair, I have not taken the Gambler out much since re-tiring, but the few trips I've made the tires seem to be fine. m

ps - a quick Google search finds that TowMasters are made by Greenball, and are made both in Malaysia and in the US by Goodyear. m

Thanks Mikie...the tire place ended up getting 2 Marathons for me at a very good price..
anyone needing tires in southern WI should definitely give Weber Tires a call in North Bristol....I saved roughly 100 bucks for 2 installed rather than going to my local Good Year place...

The Carlisles that blew on my last rig were made at a Goodyear plant. I think you'll be glad you have the Marathons.

For the record, Carlisle tires are not A product of the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. nor are they made at any of the Goodyear production facilities.

Why would you say that? Would you like to see a copy of the paperwork and check that GOODYEAR sent to me when my Carlisle blew in 05?

That tire was made at a Goodyear Plant, to Carlisle specs. When I filed a damage claim, Carlisle told me I needed to file it with Goodyear. I took the tire to my local Goodyear dealer. He sent in the paperwork and damage repair estimate with the bad tire. 2 weeks later, I had a check in the mail from Goodyear. They even added enough for three new Marathons, mounted and balanced.
