| today i was fishing boom lake. and within 30 minutes i was casting a llungen tail and about half way through the retreive i saw a musky swim up infront of my lure and just lay in the weeds about 4 feet from my boat. as soon as the lure pasted it, the musky just snatched it. it set the hook(not real greatly) fought it for about 30 seconds went to grab the net(as i was fishing by myself) and the fish threw the hook right by the boat and swam off. i switched to a topraider to see if i could get it to hit the topraider. my question is, would the fish hit the topraider or not after it just had a hook in its mouth?
also, the musky was mid-30s. but was a FAT fish. also cought a few pike and a bowfin.

Location: The Sportsman, home, or out on the water | bowfin are a given on Boom. LOL.
If that fish felt something tugging back, he/ she was done eating for the day, like a Tom turkey was shot at earlier (that tom is not coming to another call, no matter how ready that hen sounds).
Boom is my favorite lake of all time. many fish, with the chance at a pig. Whatever structure+ depth+ color and or presentation, go to similar spots. Boom has many fish all doing the same thing. Capitolize on what they show you.
