looking to plan a trip for next spring, i've how good the smallmouth fishing can be....what's the best time up there for smallmouth? can you guys recommend a good place to stay with cabins with pier that have electrical.

I have stayed at www.deadhorselodge.com Nice and qiet. Electric cose to the docks. Plenty of good spots to fish. The lake is dark and relatively shallow. I would go in june. I have seen 80 degree temps in late june if it gets hot. Nice thing about deadhorse is you can get to several places easy and if you want to pick up and move, you are minutes from a few other luanches and plus trude and wilson lakes too.

thanks for the info todd.......i'm trying to find as mush info as i can surfing the web.......some people say it's great...some say it's terrible......but i guess that's true with any lake...........is there an early mayfly hatch in late march...then another in mide june?

Yes. Not sure about march, but mid June is a fact. This year it started about the 10th.
