I need your help please. I am housboating out of Morson in a few weeks. Space will be limited. In other words I cannot show up with three thousand lures. Given the time of year and the place, what baits are must-haves?

Also, if anyone has houseboated from there, drop me a line if you have beach spots.

Thanks.

I went up to Sab Bay within a couple weeks of when you might be going. The only lure i really needed to take was a black/nickel blade Mepps Musky Marabou. I had action from this bait every day. Its about the only thing i threw. the red/copper was another good choice in color in that lure for up there also. Good Luck!

6 of us houseboated out of Morson back in 1998 had a great time. Towed 3 boat's out to little Bluebery north of King Island. Take only what you can keep in your boat for the week. set up your camp for the week and just fish. take a few extra reels with good line to keep in with your dry stuff. take corn oil and fish batter for fish fry someone has to learn how to fillet northern they are great. Take at lest 2 sets of good rain gear. O" you need to know about baits. Take your go to baits, baits you know your going to use, leave all the rest home. Id say all size bucktail's, some grandma cranks, black and silver and the best top water baits that you have. have a big breakfest and take a lunch and fish till midnight, have some one put a mantel light out to mark your camp in the dark. I ready to go right now. Have fun I netted my fishing partners bigest fish ever 53 1/2"er. we all caught fish that week. Marv.

I houseboated 17 years out of Sioux Narrows. Take along a spinning rod with a few walleye baits and jigs. Most of my buddies stuck with Rapalas. They thought I was a little weird 'cause I liked using old style lures like River Runts and Mirrolures. Drove 'em crazy when I out-fished them. > Almost forgot. Take a couple of Silver Minnows and use some large twister tails for added effect. They are practically weedless. You can keep your rod tip up and run them on top of the slop or drag them through the weeds.
