Location: Anchorage | A couple buddies and I are taking a spurt of the moment trip North on Thursday evening to the Big Pond and are looking for any possible info. We've long wanted to fish it and this is the only weekend we can this summer. Our expectations are tempered as it's new and obviously huge water, but one has to start somewhere. I've fished it for 'eyes before and somewhat know the north end but we're looking for current ski info.
I've read much of the north side sand flat phenomenon, but I'm not sure as to how active this is right now. We've got good maps and options to stay at the north and south ends. We're diving in head first, but it's always a learning experience.

Location: Otsego, MN | Got a 34" on a Inhaler in the south ends bays. Fished from 5-10:15 PM.
Missed one on a jackpot, both the fish we saw came from weeds we had no action on rocks. Lots of pike to keep us busy though, some nice ones.

Location: sauk rapids, mn | I heard a hot rumor today that a 52" was caught out on the flats. I was told the perch are not moving out yet and the muskies, (at least the big ones) are feeding on walleye on the flats. i don't know anything about the flats, because I don't fish for walleyes at all. You have to think that the north end should get going soon.

| heard the same... Walleye guide on 6 lb test..... North end should not be going till October... Everyone is better off fishing open water in the center of the lake...... |
