Location: Southern W.Va. | Fished several small lakes in Northern Vilas Co. with Mikie and Papa Joe this past week, caught only 3 fair muskies and 2 small ones, 36", 37" 37" 18" & 24".
Dark water lakes with good weed groth seem to be the key, moved more fish on these waters than clear water lakes. Largest fish that I saw was a mid 40s fish that came off a weed edge with Mikie's jerkbait in his mouth , just couldn't keep it pinned.
High winds and a cold front really slowed down the fishing as for 2 days , I don't think a fish was caught and for those 2 days , I didn't have a fish follow my lures at all. Tough fishing but we will return!!!
