| A good friend of mine and myself are headed up to Vermillion for our first time on Saturday. Fishing advice would be appreciated, but looking more for advice on structure that we may need to look out for. Also, any suggestions on a good place to stay? Thanks in advance. |

| I stay at the MarJo in Tower, you can also camp on some islands if you like that. Fortune Bay Casino is another option |

| Thanks for the hotel advice.
Also looking for structure advise. Are there any rockpiles or anything like that that I need to worry about when traveling open water? |

Location: Musky Tackle Online, MN | I've only been to Vermilion once but I didn't run into any trouble spots as far as rocks or anything else. As long as you're paying attention and watching your locator, you should be fine. I did a lot of running and gunning. When I was in close proximity to any buoys I simply cut the speed and proceeded with more caution. No worries. A GPS with a mapping chip will also be a big help here. If you're out after dark, I would say a mapping chip would be a must. Otherwise you definitely could run into trouble. But during daylight hours, I didn't see anything to be concerned about. Just pay attention to your surroundings.

| Water is high right now so that should help some. Get a good map or GPS chip. Best ones are about 98 % accurate. OK if out in the big water but when within 200 feet of shoreline use caution. Lots of resort and other info on www.lakevermilion.com
Have fun, good luck and release them all.

| Here is a pic of the pike. We managed to raise a couple of muskies today, but they were reluctant to bite.
