Location: Stevens Point, WI | I own a 2007 Tuffy 1760 DW, meaning dual console with a full windshield. Let me put it this way, I LOVE this boat! Would love to be in a 1890 but for majority of the water I fish, the 1760 is perfect. This is the first fiberglass boat I have owned and I will say, big difference in stability. The biggest thing I have noticed is when you have three guys fishing off one side of the boat, the boat hardly flinches to one side. The last couple aluminum boats I have owned would have been so off balance that you would almost feel like your going to fall out of the boat sometimes. But really, 1760 with a 150 Mercury Optimax, what a boat in my opinion! Another thing I really like is how the storage in this boat is so user friendly. What I mean by that is, I use a lot of storage containers to put stuff in, all the boxes I use fit in the storage areas like pieces of a puzzle. But I would definitely highly recommend this rig, you won't be disappointed! Let me know if you have any other questions or want to see pics. My boat will be for sale at the end of the year, let me know if your looking for a like new boat and fully rigged. |

| I prefer the bigger Tuffys myself, but I fish out of 2 different 1760s on a fairly regular basis. They are absolutly great handling boats. I'm in Superior, WI and have over 22 miles of river and at the end, Lake Superior. We also fish a lot of small lakes in the Hayward area. This boat handles all the water we put it on. It will float in about 15" or take good 4 fters out on the big pond. It's a solid, smooth and dry ride.
38 to 41 mph with a 115 4stroke and near 60 with a Yammi 150 EFI. Jig , drift or troll, the boat tracks straight and controls in any current or wind conditions.
Anything else? |

| any one have any experience with this boat and any thoughts on it.....just a little curious about it.....seems to be the right size for me. what does one of these retail for, console boat?
i ran a 1760GT tiller last year.
imho, one of the real strengths of this boat is its versatility. i was fishing everthing from some local 50 acre ponds up to fishing big waters such as Vermilion. casting alone, trolling with 6 lines out, or even 3 guys casting plus dragging 3 suckers, this boat allowed me to fish the way i wanted to fish.
Terry mentioned 15" of water, but it'll float in less than that. one day in October me and Sorno launched the boat in a blow-out hole and floated it across a sandbar where the water didn't reach half-way to the top of Sorno's boots.
on the other end of things, i messed with some good size waves a few times on Leech and Petenwell (anyone remember the PMTT out there last year???) and i was always confident in a safe and dry ride. the deep-v hull splits the waves cleanly and tracks true whether running fast or trolling at 1.2mph. my 70hp tiller would run low 30s, i know most of the guys running 150hp consoles this year are getting right around 50mph.
the fishability is unmatched for a boat that size. the interior layout of the new Tuffy boats maximizes deck space and access to the water - fishermen asked for it and Tuffy listened. you're right on the water at rest, but safe and dry on plane.
there's more storage than you'll know what to do with, lockable rod space for 8 foot rods, a built in cooler, and a 52" livewell.
the best place to find out about pricing is to talk to a dealer about the way you'd want to have it rigged. the full list of Tuffy dealerships can be found at this link:

i've attached some pics of the 1760 i was running last year. i know you're talking about a console and mine was a tiller, but i'll give you some ideas. and hey, pictures are fun!
it's a great boat and you'll be happy if you get one.

Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | I'm running a 1760 GC this year, and am in strange boat love with the rig. Amazingly roomy, runs like a rocket with the 150 on the back, fishes three comfortably, and seems to do really well in even rougher waters. For muskies its a great platform to cast from being that it is so close to the water, yet stable with even three medium to large size humans bumbling around inside. I've had her out a few times for salmon on Lake Michigan and she trolls like a dream.
What answers can I help you with about the boat? Feel free to post here or email me ([email protected]) or call (847/989-9271) with any questions I can help you with.

Location: Madtown, WI | I have run the 1760 for I think 5 years now.
This hull is amazing...I have a tiller but have fished out of a console on Lac Seul with a 150 on it.....was a rocket!!!
This is a very versatile boat. I live in Madison and fish 3200 plus acre lakes here in madison and love the dry ride and fishability. I have also had mine on the great lakes for salmon as well as I think 4 weeks up on Eagle lake. BUT....I do fish 100-200 acre lakes a lot and when I have had to drop it into some of these very questionable ramps on these small lakes I have never had a problem.
Its big enough to handle big water yet small enough to not be a pain on the smaller lakes.
I can't say enough about this hull.
I have an older model and love it....but I do love the improvements they have made over the years. If I had money to burn I would by a new one! BUT.... for these changes its not worth it to me because really its all about the hull and the fishability of this boat....
Drop me a line if you have any questions that the clowns...I mean Mike and Andrew can't answer

Location: Stevens Point, WI | Yes, the 1760 has four seat bases just like the 1890. Plus, it actually comes with four custom Tuffy seats, that was a plus. I thought that was a nice feature that Tuffy does, including a Tuffy butt seat for the bow also! Here is a pic of my rig, this boat was the photo boat for the 2007 Tuffy brochure and will be for sale at the end of the year if anyone is interested. I can try and get some more pics up but maybe Mr. Worrall can add a few pics of my rig for you seeing I took a bunch with his good camera.

I had to ask because the layout drawings for the console versions on the website don't show rear seat bases.

| i like to run the trolling motor out of the back. how is the space back there for a big guy and a foot pedal??? |
|
|
|
| the space in back is great, esp. with the fishable splashwell area.
if you're going to run the trolling motor from in back, i suggest getting the rear deck extension insert.
enjoy! |
