Hey Guys,
i live in Iowa and plan on making a run up north this week musky fish battle lake. i have spent numerous trips muskie fishing that lake.
i was curious to know if anybody has been on that lake this year and if they have any updates on what they are following/biting on, or where to try.

i have caught a few there, but have not been on it yet this season.
any advice would be greatly appreciated
thanks in advance!
ill post pix when i get back if we get any....

I have been wanting to fish west battle for the longest time. I hear its a lot like what lake miltona used to be like 10 years ago. Has anyone been doing anything out there lately?

well, starting saturday the 30th of june through the 4th, i put over 25 hours on West Battle. each day i saw two fish.
i had a nice one blow up on my bait during my saturday evening outing. but i missed. then the following morning i had a fish on with a firetiger suick, but missed him as well.
so im sorry , no pix to share, but the trip was still fun. seeing fish keeps you going!!

I fish w battel alot. i am convinced you need to be on that lake alot to do any good out there. your probably barking up the wrong tree, if hoping to show up and boat a fish. they are constantly moving and you will need ideal conditions to boat a fish, you will need to be in stealth mode, even turning the trolling motor off while casting, it seems like they can detect a boat from along ways away out there. Start fishin it 3 to 5 days a week and it will help alot. I know from the pain out there.

Exactly, there are hardly ever a musky boat on the lake. a few walleye guys. i fish alot of lakes. w battle is by far the hardest lake to catch a musky on (in my experience). have put alot of time and off the wall tactics to catch a fish out there. i will be having great success on other lakes, head to w battle hoping for the same results, and just doesnt happen.
